ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for determining the overall vision and objectives for the health of a population in a defined area of public health and reporting periodically on the outcomes for necessary action.
- To provide direction in the management of all areas of health service delivery in the district and to advise the MMDA on health matters.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the service in the district.
- Provide leadership and supervisory role in the execution of all health programs and health activities in the district.
- Monitor the implementation of both clinical and public health interventions including disease control and surveillance, Maternal Neonatal and Child Health Promotion (MNCHP) and adolescent health in the district.
- Undertake any other responsibilities that may be assigned
SERVICES RENDERED
- Preventive and curative health care services.
- Expanded programme on Immunization and disease surveillance activities.
- Health promotion activities including health talks and health screening services.
- Maternal, neonatal, child health, adolescent health care and nutritional health care services.
- Health data collection for research purposes and to guide health policies.
- Supportive Supervision and Monitoring of health facilities to ensure the safety of clients.
- Any other services needed to address any acute, sub-acute and/or chronic health problems within a defined area/community.
