The Biakoye District Assembly, under the leadership of Hon. Eric Opong, on Monday, 10th August 2026, donated classroom furniture to the Biakoye District Education Directorate for onward distribution to schools in the district.

The donation forms part of government’s commitment to solving the furniture problems confronting schools within the district.

He promised to continue supporting the Education Directorate towards better education outcomes.

The Member of Parliament, Hon. Jean Marie Formadi, expressed gratitude to government for the timely release of the District Assembly Common Fund. She appealed to headmasters whose schools will benefit from the gesture to take proper care of the furniture.

Receiving the items on behalf of the District Director of Education, the Head of the Planning Unit, Mr. Alfred Obonse, thanked the Assembly for the donation and assured that the Directorate would ensure the schools that need the furniture most would receive them.

In all, 300 dual desks, 100 mono desks, 658 hexagon tables, and 658 hexagon chairs were donated.
