Ladies and gentlemen,
Today marks a significant milestone as we gather here in Bowiri Kwamekrom for the launch of the Biakoye District Senior High Schools Farm Project, an initiative that I, Millicent Carboo, the Biakoye District Chief Executive, am thrilled to see come to fruition. I am delighted to be joined by esteemed guests, including Madam Roselyn Kafui Ofori, the District’s Director of Education, Hon. Moses Ansah Sasraku, the Presiding Member, Mr. Vincent Banye, the DCD, Mr. Kingsley Ganaa, the District Agric Director, and Hon. Perfect Dadibour, Chairperson of the Agric Subcommittee on Agric, among others.
Today’s event is a testament to my commitment to innovative thinking and, more importantly, our dedication to instilling in our youth a passion for agriculture, food sufficiency, and income generation for our schools. As we all know, agriculture is the backbone of Ghana’s economy, and involving our youth in this vital sector is essential for our nation’s future.
I am thrilled to announce that in addition to the necessary tools such as cutlasses, Wellington boots, Fall Army Worm chemicals, weedicide, and funds for ploughing the four-acre land, the students will also receive training in Robotic Technologies. This technology will revolutionize the way we farm and enhance the productivity of our agricultural endeavors.
Through this project, we aim to equip our young farmers with the skills and knowledge they need to make a difference in the agricultural sector. It is my pleasure to inform you that we will soon provide seedlings and fertilizers to further support their agricultural activities.
Let us take a moment to envision the impact of this initiative on our community. By fostering an interest in agriculture among our youth, we are paving the way for a more prosperous and self-sufficient future. I extend my gratitude to all the partners and well-wishers, including Mr. Daniel Aboagye of Educate Biakoye and STEMNNOVATION fame, and Mr. Jones Peni, the Kwamekrom Town Council Chair, for their unwavering support.
Together, let us nurture this project and empower our students to be the change-makers in our agricultural landscape. Thank you all for your presence and commitment to building a brighter future for Biakoye District.
May this endeavor serve as an inspiration for other districts to invest in the agricultural education of our youth. Let us work hand in hand to achieve food security and economic prosperity for our beloved nation, Ghana.
Thank you, and may this project flourish and bear fruitful results for generations to come.
