The 41st Farmers’ Day celebration was held on December 5, 2025, at the Tapa Amanya EP Primary School Park in Tapa Amanya, Biakoye District. The event kicked off with an opening prayer delivered by Elder Asare, setting a spiritual tone for the occasion. This was followed by a libation poured by the Linguist from Tapa Amanya, invoking blessings and ancestral goodwill for the proceedings and the farming community.
The dignitaries, including the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Eric Opong Kweku, the Agricultural Director, assembly members, and other local leaders, were introduced and welcomed to the stage amidst applause. The District Agricultural Director delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the department’s efforts in supporting district farmers. He emphasized the importance of training programs that teach farmers proper fertilizer application techniques, improved seed usage, and modern farming methods to boost yields and sustainability. He also addressed pressing challenges facing farmers, such as climate variability, pest control, and post-harvest losses, urging investment in sustainable agriculture.
The DCE, Hon. Eric Opong Kweku, then delivered a speech focusing on the district’s commitment to agricultural development and farmer welfare. He encouraged farmers to adopt innovative technologies and assured them of government support for agribusiness growth, stressing that agriculture is a profitable venture, not a last resort.
The highlight of the event was the award ceremony, recognizing outstanding contributions to agriculture. The awardees were:

3. Best Crop Farmer – Kassim Husein
4. Best Female Farmer – Kattey Veronica
5. Best Differently Abled Farmer – Adade Emmanuel
6. Best Inland Canoe Fisher – David Mesiso Yaw
7. Best Youth Farmer – Appiah Michael
8. Best SHS in Agric – WORASEC
9. Best JHS in Agric – Sacred Heart RC JHS
10. Best Primary School in Agric – Tapa Amanya EP Primary School
11. Best Faith-based in Agric – Pentecost Zion Prayer Church
12. Best Agricultural Extension Agent (AEA) – Ador Charles Armstrong
The event was well-attended by assembly members, farmers, youth, and stakeholders, who participated enthusiastically, making the occasion memorable and impactful. A bus transported attendees from the Assembly premises to the celebration ground. The Farmers’ Day underscored the community’s resolve to promote sustainable agriculture, improve livelihoods, and position Biakoye as a vibrant agricultural hub. The program inspired farmers to adopt improved technologies and leverage government initiatives for agribusiness growth.
