Biakoye is an Inner District Assembly

Biakoye District Assembly was carved put of the former Jasikan District in 2007

The District was inaugrated in March, 2011. The capital is Nkonya Ahenkro, which is about 70 kilometers from Ho, the regional capital and 185 kilometers from Accra, the National Capital.

History & Establishment

The Biakoye District Assembly was carved out of the former Jasikan District in 2007 by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1910 on 1st of November, 2007 but was inaugurated in March, 2011 with the capital as Nkonya Ahenkro.

Human Resource

The district is endowed with rich human resource and offers an opportunity for the establishment of agro industries. Crop production lands are evenly distributed in the district. It is made up of forest areas of Bowiri and Apesokubi.

Agriculture

The key agricultural activities include crop farming, livestock rearing, fish farming and agro-forestry. Crop production includes cereals, root and stem tubers, plantain and vegetables such as okro, tomato, garden eggs and pepper.
