The Biakoye District Assembly, through its Business Advisory Centre (BAC) in collaboration with the Centre for National Culture (CNC), successfully hosted the Biakoye Corporate Day on Saturday, 23rd May 2026 at the scenic Nkonya Odormitor Beach Front under the inspiring theme “Bonding Beyond the Office.”
The program brought together over 160 participants from across the district, including teachers, nurses, assembly workers, bankers, security personnel, media representatives, and community members. The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Eric Kwaku Oppong (DCE), Mr. Mark Maxwell Mensah (DCD), and respected traditional leaders, whose participation added prestige and cultural authority to the celebration.
The day was filled with excitement and variety. A cultural group from Kwamekrom thrilled the audience with traditional Jama songs, while a talented rap artist energized the youth with contemporary rhythms. A soulful gospel musician uplifted spirits with inspirational songs of unity and hope. Participants also enjoyed engaging in popular games such as Ludo, Draft, Oware, Playing Cards, and Skipping Rope competitions, which created laughter, friendly rivalry, and stronger bonds among colleagues.
Beyond the entertainment, the program had a significant economic impact, creating more than 18 temporary jobs for local vendors. Ice sellers, sweet vendors, food and drink suppliers, kebab sellers, roasted chicken and tilapia grills all contributed to the vibrant atmosphere, serving participants and visitors throughout the day.
Feedback from the community was overwhelmingly positive. Nurses described the event as refreshing and morale‑boosting, teachers commended it for encouraging teamwork and collaboration, assembly workers praised the leadership’s vision, and community members lauded the initiative for stimulating local business and promoting unity.
The Biakoye Corporate Day was truly a celebration of connection, culture, and growth. It left lasting memories, strengthened bonds, and demonstrated the Assembly’s commitment to teamwork, community development, and economic empowerment.
